Bohmian trajectories and quantum phase space distributions
We prove that most quasi-distributions can be written in a form similar to that of the de Broglie-Bohm distribution, except that ordinary products are replaced by some suitable noncommutative star product. In doing so, we show that the Hamilton-Jacobi trajectories and the concept of ”classical pure state” are common features to all phase space formulations of quantum mechanics. Furthermore, the...
متن کاملPhase space entropies and global quantum phase space organization: a two-dimensional anharmonic system
The global dynamical properties of a quantum system can be conveniently visualized in phase space by means of a quantum phase space entropy in analogy to a Poincaré section in classical dynamics for two-dimensional time-independent systems. Numerical results for the Pullen–Edmonds systems demonstrate the properties of the method for systems with mixed chaotic and regular dynamics.
متن کاملA quantum mechanical representation in phase space
A quantum mechanical representation suitable for studying the time evolution of quantum densities in phase space is proposed and examined in detail. This representation on 2'2 (2) phase space is based on definitions of the operators P and Q in phase space that satisfy various correspondences for the Liouville equation in classical and quantum phase space, as well as quantum position and momentu...
متن کاملQuantum–Mechanical Dualities from Classical Phase Space
The geometry of the classical phase space C of a finite number of degrees of freedom determines the possible duality symmetries of the corresponding quantum mechanics. Under duality we understand the relativity of the notion of a quantum with respect to an observer on C. We illustrate this property explicitly in the case when classical phase space is complex n–dimensional projective space CPn. ...
متن کاملQuantum mechanical observers: a phase space approach
A quantum mechanical observer might be describable as having a reference system that is a superposition of classical inertial reference frames. The present paper suggests a possible weighting function in such superpositions, determined by the product of the observer’s wavefunction and the Fourier transform of the wavefunction at each point in phase space. This suggestion is made because each of...
